SharePoint 4 Biz - Viewing Document Versions

One of the most common questions I hear from business users and information workers - can versions of the document be viewed in SharePoint?

When document version history is enabled for the document library in SharePoint then all versions of the document and it's corresponding metadata can be viewed at any time.

Here's how it happens.

1. The document was created and added to the document library as version 1.0:

2. Then at some stage the text of the document has been modified:

and became version 2.0:

3. Now if we want to view the previous versions we go to Version History for the document:

We can see all versions and what metadata values were changed at each stage.

5. To see the actual document in certain version, hover the mouse over the Modified column value for the selected version and click the hyperlink that appears:

The version of the document will be opened in a corresponding application:

6. To see the metadata values, hover the mouse over the Modified column value for the selected version and click the arrow that appears to see the context menu:

Click View action to see the metadata values for selected version:

You can also Restore or Delete selected versions if necessary.

Setting up External Content Type for SQL Server database using SQL Server authentication - SharePoint 2010 Foundation

This post is a follow up on the issues that I have got setting up External Content Type (ECT) on SharePoint 2010 Foundation that was going to connect to remote SQL Server database for information. According to the information I have discovered ECT and Business Connectivity Services are available in the SharePoint 2010 Foundation, but there are some issues if you want to use authentication methods in your external connections that are different from Windows Identity or Current User Identity. Have just jumped on a brand new SharePoint 2013 massive Intranet project and because of specific working conditions have found some items that required addressing almost immediately in order to continue the job. iPhone 4 Personal Hotspot on Optus Prepaid

Recently I decided to try the Personal Hotspot feature of iPhone 4, but found some obstacles. Problem When I try to activate or set up Personal Hotspot on my iPhone: I am getting the following message: "To enable Personal Hotspot on this account, contact OPTUS". It means I can't use that feature of my phone. Background I use prepaid mobile service from Optus with iPhone 4. I bought my phone directly from Apple and it's not locked to any mobile service provider. As a part of my prepaid service I have got some data which is "mobile Internet and can be used within Australia for internet browsing and downloading content" (from Optus site ).
